Did you ever look at a space and immediately imagine yourself in it? Being a bit of a dreamer and design junkie, this happens to me quite often.
I found this picture in Dering Hall’s look book and was instantly transported to a Sunday morning, complete with coffee and the happy buzzing of my family around the kitchen island.
This space works for me because of the use of beautiful wood elements combined with the classic appeal of a traditional white kitchen. The metal bar stools add a bit of an industrial edge. Don’t even get me started on the light fixtures… Fabulous! Enough said.
The banquet area beckons you to climb on in and make yourself comfy. The windows with the contrasting blue molding make this space irresistible.

We here at Centered also appreciate a space that is well edited and calm, where every object seems essential. This space, designed by Jessica Helllgerson, has a soft and warm appeal. The selection of antiques and art in this setting give each piece room to breathe.
Remember, don’t overdo it; “Stuffocation” does not make for a well-designed space. Details are small, but mighty.
